Description
Coated VICRYL™ Absorbable Suture, Size 6/0, Violet Braided, with S-14 needle, is a sterile, synthetic suture made from Polyglactin 910, a copolymer of glycolide and lactide. It is coated with a blend of polyglactin 370 and calcium stearate to enhance handling, reduce tissue drag, and support smooth knot tying.
This suture is indicated for general soft tissue approximation and ligation, including ophthalmic, plastic, and microsurgical procedures, but is not suitable for cardiovascular or neurological tissue use. The 6/0 size is designed for use in surgeries where fine suturing is required, minimizing tissue disruption while offering adequate tensile strength for small structures.
The attached S-14 needle is a 3/8 circle reverse cutting needle, optimized for precision in dense or fibrous tissues. It allows for accurate placement and minimal trauma, making it suitable for ophthalmic and fine soft tissue repairs. The 8-inch suture length supports controlled handling in restricted operative fields.
